~ Christmas Eve ~
Get in the mood for a fantastic Christmas starting with our Christmas Eve spectacular. Choose afternoon tea in the resident’s lounge or join us at 2.30pm for our annual trip to Pooles Cavern, Buxton’s two million year old natural limestone cave. Enjoy a hot mulled wine on your return and then prepare for the evening ahead.
Whilst Jes and his team are preparing your candlelit dinner, join us for a welcome cocktail in the George Potter bar. This will be followed by dinner in the restaurant and a visit from Burbage Band for Christmas carol singing.
After dinner you can enjoy coffee and liquers or attend midnight mass at St John’s Church (three minute walk from the hotel)
~ Christmas Day ~
Enjoy a leisurely start to this very special day and treat yourself to breakfast in bed.
Open your Christmas presents over a delicious breakfast encompassing fresh orange, local butchers bacon sandwiches, croissants, conserves and freshly ground coffee.
After breakfast, it’s time to promenade. Have a walk around the magical Pavilion Gardens or ask for our three mile walk around the Georgian splendours of Buxton and learn a little about the history of our Spa town.
Over a glass of Bucks Fizz and our special homemade canapés choose your Christmas lunch from our appetizing traditional menu.
After lunch, you can look forward to a variety of board games in our games room, or try your hand at our special Christmas quizzes, or even take a break and snooze in our TV lounge where we’ll also be screening a special Christmas DVD. If you need some fresh winter air, you can try out our Treasure Hunt – just for fun.
Late afternoon sees everybody’s favourite Christmas cake and tea served as the Queen’s Speech airs at 3pm, and between 7.30 – 9.30pm enjoy a delicious informal buffet supper, with another special Christmas DVD screening.
~ Boxing Day ~
Carry on celebrating Christmas in style on Boxing Day morning with our delicious breakfast served in our restaurant, followed by the Boxing Day concert in the Pavilion Gardens from 11am – 1pm. Enjoy a glass of hot mulled wine upon your return to The Old Hall Hotel.
A light buffet lunch will be served in the Shrewsbury Room before a classic pantomime in the Opera House. This year, guests can look forward to the timeless tale of Cinderella, with seats in the Dress Circle.
After the panto, join us for afternoon tea and then enjoy a chilled glass of champagne at 8pm before our Candlelit Boxing Night Dinner.
~ 27 December ~
After a hearty breakfast to end your stay, you can then spend the morning exploring the area or for an extra special treat, stay for an extra few days. We can advise you of the many interesting places to visit or you can try our exclusive White Peak Tour.
